홍승혜와 우고 론디노네는 9월 1일부터 11월 20일까지 개최되는 제 9회 서울 미디어시티 비엔날레에 참가한다. 전시 제목인 《네리리 키르르 하라라 (NERIRI KIRURU HARARA)》는 상상 속 화성인의 말을 나타내며, 백지숙 전시감독의 기획으로 50명의 작가들과 아직 오지 않은 미래와 남아있는 과거, 현재의 언어를 표현하고자 한다. 전례없는 규모로 북서울미술관, 난지미술창작스튜디오 등 서울 시내 곳곳에 위치한 서울시립미술관 전관을 활용하는 이번 서울 미디어시티 비엔날레에서 홍승혜는 지난 윌링앤딜링 개인전에서 선보인 사운드 애니메이션을 발전시킨 작품을 선보이며, 우고 론디노네는 뉴뮤지엄에서 소개한 네온 작업의 연장선에 위치한 작업을 출품한다.

Hong Seung-Hye and Ugo Rondinone will participate in the ninth edition of SeMA Biennale Mediacity Seoul, titled NERIRI KIRURU HARARA, from September 1 to November 20, 2016. The title, NERIRI KIRURU HARARA, is derived from a poem that verbalizes the imaginary language of Martians. Beck Jee-sook, artistic director of the SeMA Biennale Mediacity 2016, has chosen 50 artists to explore the uncharted languages of the future, while reflecting on the lost past and present. Exhibitions will be held in all branches of the Seoul Museum of Art including Buk-seoul Museum of Art and SeMA Nanji Residency (SNR). Hong Seung-Hye will present a sound animation originally developed for her solo exhibition at space WILLING N DEALING. Ugo Rondinone will show a version of his celebrated installation installed at the New Museum.
