국제갤러리의 박미나는 2월 14일부터 5월 21일까지 수원시립아이파크미술관에서 개최되는 그룹전 <공공연한 디자인>에 참여한다. 이번 전시는 디자인과 관객의 상호작용이 익숙하고 일상적인 행위를 통해 이루어지고 있다는 사실에서 접근하여, 7인의 젊은 작가들의 설치, 조각, 그리고 오브제작품을 선보일 예정이다. 총 3개의 전시실에서 이루어지는 이 전시는 ‘마당’, ‘집’, ‘놀이터’로 분할하여, 작가의 시선을 통해 디자인이 사회와 개인의 삶을 어떻게 연결하고 있는지 다각도로 조명하고자 한다. 전통적인 캔버스와 물감을 가지고 패턴화된 문양들을 조합함으로써 새로운 기호를 도출하는 방식을 취하는 박미나는 ‘놀이터’ 전시장에 다양한 원색의 필름 스티커를 창문에 부착한 <Primary BGRY (2017)>를 선보인다. 

MeeNa Park will participate in From Empty Space to Our Life: DESIGN, a group exhibition taking place at the Suwon iPark Museum of Art, from February 14 to May 21. Based on the premise that people’s experiences with design occur in the most mundane, everyday situations, this exhibition showcases installations, sculptures, and objet pieces by seven young artists. Comprised of three spaces – ‘Garden,’ ‘House,’ and ‘Playground’ – the exhibition illuminates how design mediates the social and personal. MeeNa Park, an artist who incorporates traditional canvas and paint to combine various patterns that project new symbols, will showcase an installation in the ‘Playground’ space. Titled Primary BGRY, this work consists of film stickers of various primary colors on the windows of the exhibition space.
