Kyungah Ham will participate in Rediscovery of Colors, a group exhibition taking place at Museum SAN, Wonju, Korea from March 17 to September 3. The first curated showcase of the year, this exhibition features eighteen works by thirteen artists that reinterpret the colors from our surroundings, such as the colors from nature and from daily life, as well as artificial colors. This exhibition was inspired by the 19th and 20th century art historical context where enhancing the innate essence of colors became an important aspect of artistic creation. Korean artists known for their use of color were invited to participate. Kyungah Ham will show case Money Never Sleeps from her famed SMS Series, which conceal political messages that are eclipsed by the colorful and luscious style in which they are rendered.


함경아, 원주 Museum SAN 에서 개최되는 그룹전 <색채의 재발견> 참여

국제갤러리의 함경아는 2017년 3월 17일부터 9월 3일까지 원주 Museum SAN에서 개최되는 그룹전 <색채의 재발견>에 참여한다. 2017년 상반기 첫 번째 전시로 기획된 본 전시에서는 자연의 색, 일상의 색, 인공의 색 등, 우리 주변에 산재해 있는 색채에서 영감을 받아 자신만의 방식으로 재해석 한 작가 13명의 작품 18점이 전시된다. <색채의 재발견>전은 색채 고유의 가치를 확대하려는 모색이 19세기, 20세기 미술에 뚜렷한 현상으로 나타나는 미술사적 문맥의 일환으로 기획된 전시로, 색채를 자유롭게 구현하는 한국의 대표 작가들을 초대했다. 이번 전시에서 함경아는 형형색색의 실크를 표현양식으로 정치적 메시지를 은폐하고 있는 자수 회화 중 <돈은 결코 잠들지 않는다> (Money Never Sleeps)를 선보일 예정이다.
